penn foster hooks

At Penn Foster, a bulk of my work was formatting text in predesigned InDesign templates, but once the company started moving more towards digital learning instead of printed PDF’s, these “hooks” became an important task.

Course and Lesson Hooks are the first image a student sees before beginning to read/learn about their course or lesson in the Penn Foster Learning Management System(LMS). Every lesson needed a simple illustration to convey it’s topic and every course needed an overall illustration that encompassed every lesson within it.

Following strict Penn Foster branding guidelines, I illustrated the course and lesson hooks to the best of my ability. Using only the colors in their color palette(with the exception of hair and skin color) and using limited to zero text, I made dozens throughout my employment. These are my favorite hooks with topics ranging from Culinary Arts, Algebra, Art History, Traveling, World Economics, and Auto Mechanics.
